ABOUT THE SPEAKER: Dr. Cécile Tremblay

Dr. Tremblay is a medical microbiologist and infectious diseases specialist at Centre Hospitalier de l’Université de Montreal. She is the Pfizer Chair in Clinical and Translational Research on HIV, Université de Montréal. She set up two pan-Canadian cohorts to study the determinants of disease progression including premature aging phenotypes associated with HIV. Her research program also includes studying genetic viral evolution and its impact on viral entry and drug resistance as well as Pre-exposure Prophylaxis. She has recently developed several research projects related to COVID-19. She has been a predominant figure in the media throughout the pandemic.


ABOUT THE MODERATOR: Dr. Marc Steben, MD CCFP FCFP DESS

As a family physician, Dr. Marc Steben concentrates his clinical interest on sexual health, mainly chronic genital diseases. Research, development and publications field include therapeutic approaches to chronic genital pain, prevention and treatment of genital herpes and development of HPV prophylactic vaccine. Marc is President of IUSTI-Canada and Chair of the 2025 World STI Congress of the ISSTDR and IUSTI-World.
