HIV PEP-in-Pocket (“PIP”) for Lower Frequency Exposures

ABOUT THE SPEAKER: Dr. Isaac Bogoch, MD

Dr. Isaac Bogoch is an Associate Professor at the University of Toronto’s Department of Medicine and a Clinician Investigator at the Toronto General Hospital Research Institute. At the University of Toronto, Dr. Bogoch received both his medical education and his residency training in internal medicine. Then he pursued an HIV fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital and an infectious diseases fellowship through the Harvard Partners programme. In addition to a diploma in tropical medicine and hygiene from the Gorgas Memorial Institute and the Instituto de Medicina Tropical in Lima, Peru, he also holds a master’s degree in clinical epidemiology from the Harvard School of Public Health. Tropical diseases, global health, and HIV prevention are the areas of clinical and research interest for Dr. Bogoch. He collaborates with a multidisciplinary team that works internationally to model threats to global health from new and reemerging infectious diseases. In addition, he creates and uses creative, straightforward diagnostic methods to raise the standard of care in settings with limited resources. In the HIV Prevention Unit, Dr. Bogoch also serves as a clinician-investigator with a focus on non-occupational Post-Exposure Prophylaxis and Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis delivery models.


ABOUT THE MODERATOR: Marc Steben, MD CCFP FCFP DESS

As a family physician, Marc concentrates his clinical interest on sexual health, mainly chronic genital diseases. Research, development and publications field include therapeutic approaches to chronic genital pain, prevention and treatment of genital herpes and development of HPV prophylactic vaccine. Marc is President of IUSTI Canada and Chair of the 2025 World STI congress of the ISSTDR and IUSTI World.
