The Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STD) Journal Peer Review Academy is now open! The Peer Review Academy is designed to build the next generation of expert reviewers and editorial leaders in our field. This year-long program offers early- and mid-career professionals hands-on experience in the peer review process under the guidance of seasoned mentors from among the STD editorial board and associate editors.
Participants will gain practical insights into the elements of strong, fair, and timely reviews while deepening their understanding of publication ethics, bias, and editorial decision-making. Each trainee will be matched with dedicated mentors, complete four mentored reviews, participate in cohort meetings, and receive individualized feedback throughout the year. Participants may also be considered for future roles on the STD Editorial Board.
